State dance weekend was a mix of big emotions, proud moments, and a little Black Hills adventure!
Exhaustion and injuries showed during hip hop, and the girls didn’t place as high as they’d hoped. But their clean execution and transitions in Poms paid off, earning them 6th place at State! We were so excited when their placement was announced!
Every year, it’s hard watching the senior girls dance their final dance, but this year hit a little differently. As the Poms routine ended, we watched Willow exit the floor with her poms hiding her face and tears falling. The growth, maturity, and resilience she’s shown this season, along with the early mornings, injuries, and countless hours of hard work, have been so much to watch. I think saying goodbye to the senior girls was harder than she ever imagined. Next year, she’ll be the lone senior, and I know she has big shoes to fill. So proud of the dancer and young woman she’s becoming.
We also had Holly join us for the weekend! She traveled from Missoula to watch Willow perform, spend time with the kids, and enjoy the Black Hills. She took Bodhi and Leo to Bear Country and Reptile Gardens, where they made all kinds of memories. Hard to believe it was Leo’s first time at either place! We even squeezed in a fun hike together.
